Your Body Isn’t Along For The Ride, It’s The Foundation of a Successful Business
You've got an idea, a dream of how you want your life to be. We all do. Maybe you have a business you're building, or a career that already looks impressive from the outside. You've mapped out your strategy of what comes next (and added in the partner, the house, the car... of course).
So, when you kinda know what you want, why does it feel like you're running on a hamster wheel, watching everyone else succeed while you're stuck in survival mode? Why does it feel like you're not moving forward at all? Things might be good, but not that good.
Whether you're a founder carrying the weight of every decision, or a corporate high-performer whose calendar is owned by everyone but you, this one is for you.
Let me share the five shifts that changed everything for me, and how a simple 23-minute morning practice inside The Rally became the foundation of my newest experience of career success as a 3x entrepreneur, 3x multi-6-figure business owner, top 1% podcaster, and creator who built over half a million social media followers.
If I could go back 10 years, here is what I would tell myself so much sooner:
1. Want to Start a Business? Find the Problem, Then Build Your Solution
The foundations of a successful business are not complicated. It's just:
Solving a real-life problem in a way that someone will pay for
Adding so much pleasure to someone's life in a way that they will pay for
Doing something better than the rest of the category
Taking people on a transformation from X to Y
For me, the first time I went to therapy it was so groundbreaking, but I realized a) it was stigmatized in the UK and no one was talking about it and b) all the podcasts were so serious that I couldn't find anything fun to help my self-help journey. So? I started live streaming therapy sessions, and boom. Fast forward a few years, I built a top 1% podcast that generated multi 6-figures in revenue.
Your business model doesn't need to be revolutionary. It needs to be relevant. Find the problem that keeps your ideal client up at night, and become the person who solves it. That's your first strategy.
2. Add Your Magic (For Real)
Here's the hard truth: everyone has a strategy. Everyone can copy a business model. What they can't copy? Your story. Your perspective. The lived experience that led you here. Your energy.
In today's world of personal brands, the businesses that break through aren't just solving problems, they're solving problems through a unique lens. Your story isn't a "nice to have" for your content and marketing strategy. It's the thing that makes people choose YOU over the 47 other people offering the same solution.=
Your magic is what turns a commodity into a movement. It's what makes your audience say "she gets me." So yes, build your strategy. But infuse it with your magic, the experiences, the failures, the breakthroughs that only you have lived. That's what makes it yours.
3. Stop Waiting for Your Business Idea to Be Perfect (It's Already Too Late)
We've been taught that we need to have it all figured out before we start. The perfect website. The perfect offer. The perfect Instagram feed. But here's the truth that will set you free: if it's perfect, it's too late.
Start scrappy. Every successful business owner you admire? They were terrible when they started. They sent awkward cold messages. They created cringey landing pages. They pitched ideas that flopped. The only difference between them and you is that they were brave enough to be bad at something new. You don't need permission to start imperfectly. You just need to start, period.
For example, my first ever client at my previous marketing agency was a small supplement brand that later failed. Who knew that 3 years later I'd be working with Nike.
4. Your Body Is Your Business Plan
This is where things get real, because strategy is only half the game.
If you're in a corporate role, you know this feeling: you walk into a 9am meeting already running on yesterday's depletion. You're sharp enough to perform, but you can feel that you're operating from pressure, not actual energy. You're reactive instead of clear-headed. You're delivering, but it's costing you.
If you're a founder, it looks different but feels the same: the decisions never stop, you're holding all of it, and somewhere between the vision and the execution, your body started quietly waving a white flag.
Here's where most career and business advice gets it wrong. They tell you to push harder, optimize everything. That if you just work hard enough, success is 'given.' But the truth? They don't teach you about somatic success:
You can't create from a nervous system in survival mode (fight/flight/fawn)
You can't make brave decisions when your body believes success is a threat
You need to believe it is safe to show up, speak your truth, and be seen, in the boardroom and online
When you build this from the inside out, everything gets easier. You post more. You show up as you. You stop self-sabotaging.
This is exactly what the daily practice inside The Rally is designed to build. Whether it is the Morning Rally to set your state before the day begins, the Midday Rally to reset after a stressful morning, or the Activation Rally to step into the version of you who already has it, there is a walk for every moment your nervous system needs you. 5. Toxic Stress Slows Down The Journey (A Lot)
It's not success if you get there burnt out, empty, and depleted. And the epidemic of busy women experiencing burnout, anxiety, PMDD, endo, and more? It keeps rising.
Toxic stress is when the body runs on fake energy (cortisol, caffeine, and willpower) longer than the body is meant to. The corporate high-performer feels it as wired-but-tired mornings, a brain that won't switch off at night, and a body that crashes the moment the week ends. The founder feels it as the inability to step away, the weight of always being on, and the slow creep of symptoms she keeps putting off dealing with.
I suffered a 20-year autoimmune disorder at some of the peaks of my career success, until I stepped into this space and realized there was a different way.
Here's what nobody tells you: toxic stress doesn't just make the journey harder. It makes it slower. When your nervous system is in survival mode, you're running on borrowed energy. You're making decisions from fear, not clarity. You're pushing through instead of flowing forward. And ironically? The harder you push, the longer it takes to get where you want to go.
The women who reach their goals faster aren't the ones grinding hardest. They're the ones who learned to work WITH their nervous system, not against it. WITH their bodies, not against them. They built their success on real energy, not fake fuel. And that shift? It changes everything.
The Daily Practice That Changes Everything
This is the reason I built the Morning Rally Walk, and why it lives inside The Rally.
I knew I could go the distance, but I kept thinking: at what cost?
Sound familiar?
Maybe you're the founder who wakes up tired, grabs for coffee, and pushes through for the first call of the day, sacrificing now for a future moment where you'll finally put yourself first.
Maybe you're the corporate woman whose morning is owned by her inbox before she's even out of bed, commuting already braced for the day, giving her best energy to work and collapsing home with nothing left.
You keep saying "next week will be quieter." It never is.
The Morning Rally Walk, inside The Rally, is your solution.
A supercharged walking ritual that becomes your daily on-switch. No meditation. No sitting still. Just movement that delivers real energy (not borrowed caffeine energy) before your first call of the day. Some days that's a 6-minute Rapid Rally. Some days it's our 23-minute Morning, Midday or Restorative Rally. There is always a walk for where you are.
In as little as 6 minutes, you'll:
✔️ Move stress OUT of your body (reducing downstream hormonal issues)
✔️ Energize your nervous system for lasting energy
✔️ Prime yourself for a great day, every day
The more I walk, the more success flows to me, and the less I burn out.
